Health

The wellbeing and health of our employees are central to our organisation. We believe that healthy, energetic colleagues contribute to a positive working environment and stronger performance. That is why we actively invest in initiatives that promote a healthy lifestyle.

One way we do this is by encouraging cycling to work. Cycling is not only beneficial for health, but also for the environment, and it helps employees start their working day feeling fresh and energised. We support this choice by providing facilities such as changing rooms and offering a bicycle allowance or a bicycle leasing scheme, making cycling an easy and attractive option.

We also consciously choose sustainable mobility during working hours. When our construction sites are centrally located in urban areas, site visits are carried out by bicycle whenever possible. This helps us avoid traffic congestion, reduce our ecological footprint, and contribute to more liveable cities.

Through these and other initiatives, we aim to support a healthy work–life balance, promote vitality in the workplace, and encourage sustainable mobility.

Students

Students from VTI Ieper took part in a hands-on placement of four working days on a construction site, with the aim of sparking their interest in the construction sector and familiarising them with day-to-day site operations. In addition, students from different classes collaborated on installing the letters “Bouw” on their own school campus.

At the same time, interest from educational institutions in Furnibo’s expertise in BIM (Building Information Modeling) continues to grow. Furnibo regularly delivers guest lectures on the practical application of BIM within the construction industry. Furthermore, Furnibo is actively involved in innovative projects such as AIDA WERF and AI Construct, which focus respectively on AI-driven site monitoring and improving the efficiency of construction information processes through generative AI.

Safety

An optimised system has been implemented for the management and procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), with a strong focus on safety and ergonomics. Based on extensive testing of various PPE items—including gloves, hearing protection, safety glasses, and workwear—a standardised selection has been established. The system operates with individual budgets and a dedicated personal webshop.
